A Very Late October Update

by LuckyFoot223 17th Oct 2022, 4:11 PM
When the idea of doing a blog post crossed my mind, it made me realize that it had been quite awhile since I had even put one together! There goes my once-a-month update plan. Nevertheless, here I am with an update on the status of this comic and other projects in the universe.

Beloved Chain
Time flies. I had not realized that this main comic has been on hiatus for almost one and a half years. Covid, life, family, health, and everything else you could think of has hit myself and Laura, the artist. We never gave up on this comic and slowly she worked on new pages when she could and I continued to develop the scripts from the overall story plot.
I am happy to say that I have all the way up to Issue #6 written and she is in a place to start turning out pages and getting this next issue caught up.
So. The plan is in the next four weeks, I am going to officially start release Issue #3!
In the meantime, I have a four-page interlude story that I’m going to be uploading that will fill the space to give us a chance to finalize a backlog of pages!

The Blue Blossom Conspiracy
The visual novel has not been given up and it is still in development. The artist who has been helping me with that one is 80% done with all the artwork and I’m almost done with phase 1 or 4 in the game itself. There is still a lot of coding to do but it’s starting to flow as the mechanics and my familiarity with the program improves.
To prove the dedication in to getting this game released, we have already purchased a spot on Steam for it’s release and will be locating other locations to upload it too.
There are plans for beta testers to help and a demo to be released for everyone to try out. When specifically, this will be made available? I do not yet know. I’ll keep you all updated.

Social media re-branding
I’m not sure if anyone has had a chance to check out any of our other social media sites but I’m in the process of getting it updated, making it more centralized around the world itself, and making them more active so people can keep track of what’s going on. I do hope to release more over snippets of progress and what we’re doing in between these blog post updates.

We have also retired our patreon. Over the four years that we have used it, people have really not been interested in it and I don’t blame them. I have never been a fan of the difficult to schedule uploads (no mass uploads so it takes hours to prep brand new pages), their company culture, lack of consideration to security, and just in this present global economy, a subscription just doesn’t make sense.
So, Beloved Chains has moved to Ko-Fi so that anyone who wants to support the universe can do so without the need of having to do a subscription.

So where is all the patreon content moving to? That’ll be discord! We are in the process of setting up a section of the discord that will allow users who donate to get a special title and access to the library that we have built up over the years. Not all the details are worked out yet but I’m in the process of getting it all set.
This Discord will be home to not just Beloved Chains but also Beloved Maid and the Visual novel later.

My Beloved Chains: Spring
So!!! One of the other projects that I am working on putting together is the release of our very first manga book which will include all the issues of Beloved Chains, Beloved Maid, and the interludes including behind the scenes artwork, and a few custom pieces just for the book.
This book will be made available through Print on Demand technology and we will be working to get it available on other websites as a collection!
The biggest delay in this release is we are in the process of re-drawing Issue #1 so that the artwork matches the later volumes and will only be available in the manga.

So, that’s all I’ve got for you now as we reach the end of 2022. If you have any questions, thoughts, or ideas, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me through any of the social media sites, here in the comments, or our discord: https://discord.gg/vB2FvTt

Thank you so much for your continued support, patience, and interest in this world!
